Things Will Get Better.

THINGS WILL GET BETTER
When things aren’t going well for you
And times aren’t what they should be,
Just focus on the positive
And think of what could be.

Acknowledge what has happened.
Don’t lose sight of lessons past.
But don’t allow the negative
Distracting thoughts to last.

Take what you’ve learned
And start from there.
Draw strength from your frustration.
And let this added sense of purpose
Be your new foundation.

It’s hard to follow any plan
Precisely to the letter.
Though life right now is difficult,
Things will in time get better.

My mom found this amazing poem while cleaning out our basement. It is like it was written for me! I really don't have much to say about this poem because it really says it all. I hope you enjoy it.

Love, Daniela

  1. I thought you wrote that poem! I agree with you that it sounded just like you saying it! But I think you could do even better, being the writer that you are, Daniela!. Plus I think you could add something even a bit more because your faith isn't in someTHING (that can just pass away). I think that your positive outlook is from trusting someONE.. the person who is eternal and totally unfathomably good and powerful! (You know Who I mean.) Anyway, I thought I'd like to see how you would do writing your own poem. You have posted so many good quotes and I have enjoyed them. But Daniela Joel is a very smart and clever writer too as illustrated by the awesome messages on this blog! So, just a bit of a challenge - encouragingly from a teacher who loves you bunches! But do know that if you feel that others can say it for you - that's cool too! I really love reading your blog! Thanks so much for your honesty and beauty!

Oh and do let your beloved mom kiss you on Monday! Cheeky kissing can't be so bad - especially when it is someone's birthday!! How do you feel about hand kissing? I know that it is very renassaince but then there is the air kiss...you know, no contact just smacks as you close in without touching! I will just have to be creative about this 'no kissing' rule that the doc passed down. (ALthough I compleeeetly understand it --germs are very nasty things!) Just be ready for the 'creative kiss'(the one without really kissing!) next Thursday!

Well, Cole's birthday party was a success. We had slip-n-slide that led to the ropes course (strrng tangled under tables) over to the balance beam (which was only 5 inches off the ground) then to the trampoline which was filled with colorful balloons where they had to find a 'ball' and lastly to the tub filled with shaving vream and blue marbles. (They had to pick up marble with their toes!) Then we had food and opened presents. The hot sun was making all of us adults hide in the shade under our deck and drink cold water in front of a misting fan. When you plug this fan in, a fine mist of water is blown in front of the fanned air which is very cooling! It oscillated back and forth which helped whoever was standing in front of it to not get soaked. Cole got fun presents and his best gift of all- kids at his house playing and having fun! Success!!

I need to go to bed - I will pray for you before I go to sleep. I am always asking God to heal you! I will not stop doing that!! Do you know the story in the Bible about the woman who constantly asked for something? You might like looking that one up - it is so good!

Love to you - Miss Debra XO

  2. Sounds like a song, reminds me of something from the long-ago time when I was your age--Joni Mitchell? Judy Collins? Joan Baez? Something like that. I didn't know about the no kissing rule. I'll stop, but I won't like it!
